Independence

Cilgin Industry Report operates as an editorially independent publication. Editorial decisions — including what to cover, how to cover it, and what conclusions to draw — are made solely by our editorial staff based on news value, public interest, and journalistic standards. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage, and no commercial relationship with any entity covered by our reporting influences our editorial decisions.

Accuracy and Verification

We strive to report accurately on all matters we cover. Our editorial process includes verification of factual claims against primary sources wherever possible. Primary sources used in our reporting include: regulatory filings published by AGCO, iGaming Ontario, and other provincial gaming regulators; annual reports and financial disclosures published by Crown lottery corporations and publicly listed gaming companies; legislative records, court decisions, and official government publications; and direct statements from regulatory bodies and corporate communications.

Where we rely on editorial estimates — particularly in market data reporting where official figures are incomplete, delayed, or not publicly available — we identify those estimates clearly and provide the basis for our methodology. Estimates are labeled as such and distinguished from confirmed figures.

Sources

We cite our sources in every article, providing links to primary source documents where available. Where information comes from sources that cannot be identified by name, we do not publish it without corroboration from at least one additional source and editorial review of whether the public interest served by publication outweighs the inability to name the source.

Conflict of Interest

Members of our editorial team do not hold financial interests in gambling operators, lottery corporations, or other regulated entities covered by our reporting. We do not participate in affiliate marketing arrangements with gambling operators. We do not receive compensation from operators or their representatives for publishing, modifying, or suppressing coverage.

If an editorial team member has any potential conflict of interest relevant to a specific article, that article is reviewed and approved by a different team member before publication.

Advertising Separation

Advertising, if any, is clearly distinguished from editorial content. Sponsored or paid content, if ever published, will be labeled as such with equal prominence to editorial content labels. No advertiser has editorial input into our news coverage.

Responsible Gambling Content Standards

Our editorial content discusses gambling as an industry and regulatory subject. We do not produce content designed to encourage gambling participation, and we do not direct readers to gambling operators through affiliate links or similar arrangements. All articles on topics related to gambling products or services include appropriate responsible gambling context where relevant, and our responsible gambling resources page is maintained and accessible from every page on the site.
